Step 1: Free Direct Hit Search
We start with a fast USPTO “direct hit” search to check if your exact name is already registered. If it’s clear, we move forward.
Step 2: Comprehensive Federal & State Trademark Search – $300
We search federal and state trademark databases for:
- Registered and pending trademarks
- Phonetic matches (names that sound alike)
- Visual similarities (names that look alike)
- Conceptual similarities (names with similar meanings)
- Related goods or services
This level of research goes far beyond basic checks and follows the USPTO’s own recommendations for due diligence. It helps us identify possible issues and strengthens your chances of a successful registration.
