THE DAILY SCAM newsletter exposes SECURE MARK USA. Captain Kangaroo. What does all this to do with retirement?

Hello Client, I am told all the time, “if you retire, you’d have nothing to do. What would you ever do?”

What a ridiculous question!

But criminal trademark cyberscam business first!

This week THE DAILY SCAM @https://www.thedailyscam.com/wrote an article about someone we have also cited as being a total scam, namely SECURE MARK USA.

Please see the April 15, 2026, article titled “Questions and Concerns About SecureMarkUSA.com @ https://www.thedailyscam.com/concerns-about-securemarkusa/.

Here’s my October 26, 2025 SECURE MARK USA article titled “An emotional breakdown of a $6,999 scam by Trademark Crafty and Secure Mark USA tag team” @ https://tmexpress.com/goodbye-fraudulent-low-fee-scammers-an-emotional-breakdown-of-a-6999-scam-by-trademark-crafty-and-secure-mark-usa-tag-team/

While writing this, Sirius Radio played the 1965 song by The Statler Brothers named Flowers On The Wall. A quip: “Smoking cigarettes and watching Captain Kangaroo. Now don’t tell me I’ve nothing to do”. See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfeZsLCjhiY.

Well, my top-of-mind response to the silly question of “what I would do in retirement” is “I have no idea”. I think this way because I’m mired in work. Chasing idiot scammers for one. Trying to stay in business two. I am well aware.

My imagination to the rescue. My pondered response to the retirement question is really: “NOTHING. EVERYTHING. ANYTHING.

The Statler Brothers captured the “NOTHING”. Does anyone really wonder what “EVERYTHING” could be? Jeez, get a life! Fast!

The freedom to do ANYTHING, on any day, at any time – is really the impetus since I was a teenager. The WHY I wanted to be in my own business in the first place. Who in their right mind would want to work for someone else?

I’ve been both a slave to my businesses, then at other times have had complete freedom away from this place while my employees did all the work.

There are varying kinds of businesses though. Some succeed wildly. Others fail miserably. My businesses last decades. Hmmm. In between. Lots of opportunities passed. I’ll have more. Soon.

In the moment, delaying my retirement are

the ever growing # of trademark SCAMMERS.

We are all being hammered by the cyber-criminal trademark scam emails, texts and fake USPTO spoofed phone calls. They create misinformation and distrust in the trademark field. They damage people’s trademark application because they do no legal research and forge applications leading to terminations.

Our business suffers when there are disbelievers like Matthew Piron. After explaining to Matthew, it is the “low fee” trademark services that are the scam, he angrily yelled back “we are the scam because we charge so much”. The next time I have to contribute $2000 to cover payroll, I’ll think of people like Matthew Piron who effectively said, “there is nothing to getting a trademark, he’ll hire a reasonable trademark service or do it himself”, then go out of his way to give a 1-Star review. So, a lost client, a nail in the coffin. This slow drama has been playing out for years.

As to Matthew, I reached out to him yesterday to make peace and have an actual conversation. Of course I want to prove my case, but I want to help him too. He represents 1000’s of others. The day we stop addressing your client’s complaints is the day the owner is the problem. I even thought of an enticing offer to encourage Matthew to call back. My staff says “to let it go”, “we’re too busy”, “there’s no convincing some people”, “he already hired a “low fee” disaster”. We’ll see.

Small businesses suffer as the pollution of these trademark scammers in the marketplace proliferates. As much as we try, as many as we complain about getting taken down, more and more pop up.

MOLES GOTTA BE WHACKED!

It just cannot become the norm when small business are being created that they run into shoddy services, sowing mistrust and insufficient services. Even many attorneys have been cowed into application only services, backed by minimal legal research. When trademarks fail, business owners learn to mistrust the process. The chance at wealth is squandered when trademarks are not successfully secured. Expansions don’t happen. The idea of being in business sours. Friends and families begin to think it is even riskier than they thought to ever open a business.

In a out-of-control marketplace, new product & service ideas don’t grow. Capitalism itself is chilled.

Before 2010 every attorney, every trademark service did REAL, CREDIBLE comprehensive legal research. Today it seems just TradeMark Express and the top trademark attorneys provide such services.

BTW, if you want to know more about the Statler Brothers go to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Statler_Brothers

An interesting fact is the Statler Brothers performed at one time under the

name THE KINGSMEN. But they found that name was already being used.

See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Kingsmen

From Wikipedia: The Statler Brothers “reorganized as The Kingsmen and developed three distinct shows — country, pop, and gospel — tailored to different venues in their region. They performed their gospel program on Sundays and their country and pop shows during the week, with a repertoire including country tributes, pop standards, and impersonations of popular artists. In 1963, after the song “Louie, Louie” by the rock band The Kingsmen was a major hit and with a gospel group in the Carolinas also using the name another name change was in order. Taking a cue from a box of facial tissue in their hotel, Don Reid, Harold Reid, Phil Balsley, and Lew DeWitt were known from then on as The Statler Brothers

When starting any business, always, always, always at least CLEAR the name with a comprehensive clearance legal trademark and common law search! (This ad is paid for

by TradeMark Express.)

IF you have a trademark from elsewhere, make sure it totaled 600-800 pages as ONE sign it was done correctly. If they did not access enough paid databases, nor implement multiple research strategies to cull similarities and conflicts from all the data available, then the research report will never total 600-800 pages.

BTW – TradeMark Express offers FREE analysis of competitor research reports.

BE AWARE of trademark service SCAMS! We have a detailed

series about criminal trademark service fraudulent scammers.

Want to have some fun?

Call SECURE MARK USA @ SecureMarkUSA.com next week and inquire about getting a trademark. Ask a lot of questions. Take notes. Share with us! List if confidential or for public consumption. If the web site isn’t there, (like for a few hours on April 17th it wasn’t), then call their phone # 845-660-0206. Note they will

not answer as SECURE MARK USA, as one phone # we’ve noticed is a feed to

more than one “trademark service”. Ask a lot of questions. Take notes.
