Hello Client, apologies to Dr. Oleg. Your $66,100 scam is complicated.
Here’s a easy new scam, in the meantime, while I work on yours.
Imagine receiving an odd text warning you to ACT FAST as one of their clients wanted to trademark your company name AND logo design.
They even show you their client’s use of your exact trade name and VERY CLOSE logo design to somewhat feign “credibility”.
You think, “How dare they! That’s my company name, that’s MY LOGO!”.
Your anger clouds your mind, your “spider senses” do not compute. You are grateful they let you know. Trust happens. You bite.
How can you lose? Of the $849 fee, their part is ONLY $149. The USPTO fee is $700. Not their fee. Their fee is JUST $149. Cheap, (you way too quickly believe).
Well, your fledgling bank account loses.
This time $849 will be lost.
You’ll look the FOOL too as your terminated trademark will be visible in the 22nd century, if not longer, on the USPTO.GOV web site.
==============================================================
1) SCAM TEXT FROM 878-867-9747: “Hello, this is Johnathan Wilson from Smith & Johnson IP Law. A third party is filing for the logo rights for FIXOID. Your name is registered, but the logo is unprotected. We must file today to block them and avoid a forced rebrand. Contact at 201-551-2894 us back to secure federal priority.”
From vast experience via dozens of complaints, we know Smith & Johnson IP Law is a SCAM. 1) See their two very differing web sites below. FACT: Correctly processed trademarks involve ~10 hours of labor + database costs of ~$200, a REAL TRADEMARK requires. The supposed law firm of Smith & Johnson IP Law fee schedule is at mere $49/$149/$249 price points. Legal research isn’t even mentioned in the $49 & $149 packages. Then suddenly, Worldwide research is offered in the $249 package – WHICH IS UTTERLY RIDICULOUS. As “attorneys” legal comprehensive clearance research should be in ALL their trademark packages. It isn’t. Then when it is, it is at a ridiculously low fee, 800% lower than market cost. BULLSHIT. Lastly, Worldwide research is VAST OVERKILL if you are only going to do business in the USA. Each country is a separate issue. 2) FAKE addresses. They are not at either multi-story office complexes. Note they do not have a suite #. For a high rise? Do they have the whole building? No. 3) Differing registrars, in case they are kicked off one, as we have cataloged, they have in the past.
2) SCAM TEXT FROM 201-551-2894: “There is an applicant who is attempting to file the same name, logo, slogan. As an attorney, whenever I receive a new application, I conduct a comprehensive search to determine whether the mark is available for registration. During that search I came across your registered logo, which raised a potential conflict that should be addressed before the new application proceeds.”
LIES. Simply put, IF they really were an attorney and really did the right thing by doing a “comprehensive search to determine whether the mark is available for registration”, then they should be telling their newbie start-up client to pick a new name. For them the name AND logo design were BLOCKED. The FIXOID name has had Federal trademark rights since 2015. Additionally. FIXOID has first use Common Law rights for the name and “wrench/screwdriver” logo design for 25 years, since first used in 2001. The purpose of the research is to SAVE your client from disaster, NOT fink on them by contacting the true owner to open your client up to a cease-and-desist lawsuit. Whose side is this supposed SCAM attorney on I ask? Oooh oooh, I’ll answer, HIS OWN. He’s a SCAMMER!
4) SCAM TEXT FROM 201-551-2894: “At this point, we have two options: either we amend your existing logo application to include the additional classes, or we file a separate word mark application for the name itself.“
NONSENSE. NO OPTIONS! Existing trademark applications, even if filed yesterday, let alone 11 years ago as FIXOID was, CANNOT AMEND their trademark to add goods or services. A new trademark application must be filed. In this case the name FIXOID has already been trademarked, not the “wrench/screwdriver” logo design. Let’s say here in the SCAM texters defense this is just a simple mix up in his excitement to cover rent for the next 3 months in Karachi, Pakistan.
5) SCAM TEXT FROM 201-551-2894: “That is the logo they intend to trademark, and they have also secured copyright protection for the design.“
RIDICUOUS! Fact: logo designs branding a good or a service are TRADEMARKS, NOT COPYRIGHTS. This is where misinformation comes from, when A.I. bots see this H-shit and perpetuates it for the next 50 years – confusing our entrepreneurial grandchildren to come. Sad. Sad. Sad.
There’s more…
Enter the elusive email to get payment. Here it is. Note it comes from TRADEMARK REGISTRATIONS EXPERTS. Not to be confused with TRADEMARK REGISTRATION EXPERTS, or 2 recently run out of business because of complaints from people like you or we suspect by the USPTO: TRADEMARK REGISTRATION EXPERT and TRADEMARK REGISTRATION EXPERTS.
Confused? Tell me about it. When these names all look the same to me at 1am, well after the “welfare check from my Wife, I know it is time to go home. We have discovered probably 15 scammer web sites merely by accident, by trying to type a close name. There’s no way to do this during all the interruptions during regular business hours.

Hello there,
I hope you are doing well.
Let me guide you through the process and associated fees. First, I would like to let you know that I am not charging any attorney or consultation fees, as this is being provided as a courtesy.
There are two fees involved in the trademark registration process:
Initial Filing Fee – $149
Federal Filing Fee – $350 per class
To initiate the process, you only need to complete the $149 initial filing fee at this time. This allows us to prepare and submit your application for the approval stage.
Since we will be covering two classes for:
Imprinting, merchandising, advertising, and marketing services
Use of the business name on both physical and online platforms
The total cost will be calculated as follows:
Initial Filing Fee: $149
Federal Filing Fee (2 Classes): $700
Total: $849
Please let me know if you would like to proceed, and I will guide you through the next steps.
Best regards,
Legal Department
Smith and Johnson IP Law, PLLC.
It took a few days to entice the above damming admission from the scammer.
We needed the email to gain details of the SCAM. We got it.
Turns out old Johnathan Wilson weirdly works for BOTH Smith and Johnson IP Law and TRADEMARK REGISTRATIONS EXPERTS. Why would a (FAKE) attorney be associated with an even more FAKE trademark service. No explanation from Johnathan Wilson.
To be clear, the FIXOID combined name and logo within the name has been trademarked in Class 37 since 2015, covering “Computer installation and repair; Installation, maintenance and repair of cell phone related hardware; Troubleshooting in the nature of repair… First Use Anywhere: November 01, 2015 | First Use in Commerce: November 01, 2015”
MY EMAIL TO FIXOID and CC’d to the USPTO today:
TO BE CLEAR – They are a TOTAL SCAM.
They CREATIVELY FAKED a LOGO like yours, crossing a screw driver and a wrench
to urge you into action. Then LIED to you saying you needed to file a new trademark
in 2 classes, in some weird list of services we have seen time and time again, namely:
Imprinting, merchandising, advertising, and marketing services
Use of the business name on both physical and online platforms
YOUR COMPANY FIXOID DOES NOT OFFER THOSE SERVICES, THEREFORE
FIXOID DOES NOT QUALIFY TO TRADEMARK FOR ANY OF THOSES SERVICES.
See your trademark below, in Class 37. Knowing this the SCAMMERS
say you are in these “services”, which aren’t in the same language of
how a trademark application is written, sans the classes as well. All to
get USPTO filing fees of $350 x2 = $700 + what seems to be a reasonable
$149 for their fee. The scam is to get $849 from you, and either NOT file,
file 1 class not 2, or file to draw a sure USPTO Office Action refusal which
they then can charge you more, invent invoices using your credit card
or capture your credit card for future abuse. Pick any. It is a SCAM BECAUSE
YOUR COMPANY FIXOID DOES NOT OFFER THESE SERVICES, THEREFORE
CAN NEVER QUALIFY FOR A TRADEMARK FOR THESE SERVICES. Additionally,
there is NO SUCH THING AS AMMENDING a trademark. Impossible.
Call me if you would like to go over this.

SUSPICIOUS TRADEMARK REGISTRATION LAW FIRMS
(Latest update below added 6/21/2026)
UPDATE June 21, 2026: Smith and Johnson IP Law is a fraud!
Another fraudulent Trademark Attorney website has been reported to us by the team at Trademark Express and a businessman who was targeted by this scam. The business man received texts supposedly from the phone number 201-551-2894. This is the phone number of a supposed trademark attorney law firm called Smith and Johnson IP Law, using the domain smithandjohnson] [iplaw.com and email at the domain smithandjohnson] [–iplaw.com.
This 201-551-2894 has been reported as a scammer’s number on both 800Notes.com and the BBB Scamtracker website. The person who texted the businessman said that someone else was trying to file the same name, logo and slogan that the businessman had been using for years. But this was all a lie to get the businessman to pay for services he didn’t need. Here are several more reasons why people believe that SmithandJohnson] [IPLaw.com is a fraud….
1. The smithandjohnsoniplaw.com website shows two addresses: 1050 Wall St W, Lyndhurst, NJ 07071 and 530 Technology Dr, Irvine, CA 92618. Both are office buildings. But this supposed Attorney’s website lists no floor or suite number in these two office buildings.
2. On their About Us webpage they show a photo of their “powerhouse team committed to excellence.” This photo shows 7 women and 1 man standing on a set of stairs. But this photo is part of a photo set created and posted by reporter Andre J. Ellington in 2024 as part of an interview with a real trademark Attorney
3. On June 21, both smithandjohnson] [iplaw.com and smithandjohnson] [–iplaw.com showed the same identical websites, with the same phone number, address and photos. VirusTotal shows that smithandjohnsoniplaw.com is a phishing scam site and also identified smithandjohnson-iplaw.com as suspicious.
4.The smithandjohnson] [iplaw.com domain was registered on July 3, 2025, less than a year ago, and is hosted on a server in Hong Kong. While the smithandjohnson] [–iplaw.com domain was registered on November 28, 2025 using a proxy service in the Netherlands. This law firm is supposedly a US law firm with offices in New Jersey and California.
5. On their About Us page, the Smith and Johnson IP Law Firm says that they are “recognized by respected organizations such as the American Bar Association, Yahoo, Law Practice Today and News Nation…” We used Google’s “site” command, for example, to search both NewsNationNow.com and the American Bar Association websites for “Smith and Johnson IP Law” or smithandjohnson] [iplaw.com or smithandjohnson] [–iplaw.com and Google found NO INFORMATION at all on either website!
6. Trustpilot shows that smithandjohnson] [iplaw.com (Smith and Johnson IP Law) has an awful 2.5 star rating, with several people calling them a scammer’s website, as of June 21.

Hello Chris,
We are reaching out to you to let you know your recent email campaign NEW FREAK OUT TEXT SCAM – Someone is going to trademark your name & logo. 062126 contained a link to a third party domain that is listed with a well known anti-spam service, Spamhaus. The 3rd party link within the email is listed on Spamhaus Domain Block List. Sending an email that contains URL’s on the Spamhaus DBL can affect both your sending reputation and Constant Contact’s sending reputation. The problematic domain is located throughout the campaign of the email (we are unable to provide the direct link/URL in the email campaign as it is listed on the DBL and likely will cause this email to not be delivered). Please click this link Domain Blocklist and place the link/URL used in the campaign to determine why it’s been listed with Spamhaus.
We ask that you kindly remove the 3rd party link/URL from the email in your account or any future emails before sending to avoid any delivery issues. Once the blocklist has been resolved on the link/URL feel free to resume using it in your Constant Contact campaigns. Further occurrences of this may result in your account being scheduled for a review by our Compliance team.
